| Seaquest DSV, the 16-Bit Gem! |
Posted by HarryCane / Saturday, May 28, 2011 (13:37:22) / (20 reads)

Little known to many there lies a Online review series entitled: “16-Bit Gems”. Hosted by a man named Roo – who is an avid Star Trek fan.
And on the 4th of May 2011. Roo's annual “Let's Talk about a video game based of a licensed TV Franchise” came around once more, and many expected it to be yet an another review of an 16-Bit Star Trek game.
But, out of the Blue (No pun intended) Roo admitted that back in the day one of the first Science fiction shows he ever took a interest in was a little known NBC series named SeaQuest DSV, and thus a review of its 16-Bit game suddenly appeared onto the Internet.
This is the only Professional Review of the SeaQuest DSV SNES & SEGA GENISIS Game on the internet, and to many it will introduce people to the wonderful world which is SeaQuest, mostly due to the fact “16-Bit Gems'” is shows on TGWTG.com and Blistered Thumbs, Two very large and highly respected websites.
So to all the users of NewCapeQuest along with old and new SeaQuest fan's alike. Please enjoy this nostalgic look at SeaQuest DSV, the Video game.
If you liked the review I would recommend checking out the rest of Roo's reviews over at Clan of the Grey Wolf .com |

| New seaQuest Fan/Costuming Group in Colorado |
Posted by CDRClineDSV4600 / Monday, February 22, 2010 (04:14:30) / (41 reads)

Greetings seaQuest DSV fans and costumers of Colorado and the surrounding states,
My name is Chris. I am the creator and Commanding Officer of a new seaQuest DSV fan and costuming group based in Denver, Colorado called DET ONE. We are a physical group of fans who meet face to face regularly and attend sci-fi/fantasy Conventions held along the Front Range of Colorado, such as Starfest in Denver.
If you love seaQuest DSV and enjoy costuming, DET ONE is for you!
DET ONE's primary focus is seaQuest DSV Costuming and Prop building/acquiring. However, we have a wide range of related interests to discuss and share here.
We are also a general seaQuest interest/fan group. Here we cover such topics as the Series Episodes, Music from the series, Novels, Artwork, Fan Fiction, Models of the seaQuest DSV and other Craft/Creatures from the series (we may plan seaQuest model building workshops), Collectibles, and anything else seaQuest related!
Outside of seaQuest directly, but still related, are other "Deep Sea" themed movies and television series, such as Crimson Tide, The Hunt for Red October, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (especially the Disney version!), Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Sea Hunt, Ice Station Zebra, The Abyss. HELL, even the ROV and DSV scenes in Titanic!
We are also interested in the Oceans and their real life exploration. Subjects such as undersea explorers like Jacques Yves Cousteau, Robert Ballard and others, The Cousteau Society, Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ocean Futures Society, Naval Deep Submersible Research, The Sea Shepherds and the protection of the oceans are perfectly acceptable and encouraged subjects here!
Some of our possible events include gatherings to screen seaQuest DSV episodes or other related TV programs and films, seaQuest and Ship Model building workshops, Costume and Prop making workshops, trips to the Downtown Aquarium, screenings of ocean related IMAX films at a local IMAX theater and, of course, representing seaQuest DSV at Conventions such as Starfest and other events in costume and staffing a fan table at Con's to display seaQuest DSV memorabilia, costumes, props and such to attract new recruits to our Team.
So, if you are looking for other folks to share your love of seaQuest DSV with and live in Colorado or surrounding states, please contact me at: detonecommander@yahoo.com
and I will send you information on joining DET ONE.
Thanks,
Chris

| seaQuest on DVD? Really? |
Posted by DGWilliams / Monday, February 18, 2008 (11:01:02) / (68 reads)

Season 2, Region 1 Release Announced on TVShowsOnDVD.com Yes, finally. The Region 1 release is scheduled for January 1st, 2008.
Discussion located here.
_________________________________
Season 1 comes to DVD for Australia and New Zealand!
The box art appears to be the same as that released in Region 1; however, on December 6, 2006, our beloved seaQuest will surface on shelves Down Under (the DVDs will be encoded for Region 4 playback)! The set is also available for pre-order online. Price is around 50AUD.
Season 1 will also be released in Region 2 on November 20, 2006. It is avaliable for pre-order from Amazon.co.uk, among other places, for E25-E35.
Region 2 includes: Europe, including France, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Arabia, Japan and South Africa.
The DVD set was released in the U.S. on December 26, 2005. It is still on shelves in many U.S. retailers, so look for it! Average price is around $40.
The box set also includes deleted and alternate scenes. As this was released at least 12 years after the original airdate, this is more than we expected!
Each DVD Disc is double-sided, and packaged in a 'slim-line' case, with individual cover art. The box contains four discs (Region 4's release is saying 6 discs...) Catch the community discussion of these developments here.
